Norea Dijkstra

My name is Norea, a 20-year-old Cultural Anthropology student from the Netherlands. Connection is deeply important for me; I can feel very alone when I don’t feel connected to the people around me. I believe that connection can be very vulnerable, because it requires trusting others with a part of yourself, but I think it is only then that a real connection can form. The moments in which I feel the most connected are those when I’m laughing with other people. This is also how I approach most of my connections with new people. There have been a lot of jokes during the first week off university while trying to make new friends :). For me, connecting with others also means opening windows and doors to many new things. Last year, I was very fortunate to spend some time at the grounds of the Goetheanum, where I met a lot of amazing people from around the world who showed me a little bit of their world. Right now, being part of the ISC-team, connection means (apart from a lot of Zoom-calls) working together and trusting each other to make this amazing project happen, and I’m very happy that I can be part of that!!
